Experiential Anatomy — Where Is Your Head? Posture, Ease and Clear Thinking
The head weighs 15 – 18 pounds. If it’s not sitting on top of your spine, it’s dragging you down, and your spine along with it. Lighten your load and give new meaning to putting your head in the right place. One of the wonders of human organization is the placement of this big, heavy head at the top of a skinny neck. Whose idea was that? And yet, Moshe Feldenkrais said that when properly organized, the impression Is one of weightlessness. The carriage of the head impacts the posture, the mood, even the character of a person. Whether you bow your head in thought, or cock your head in question, your choices tell others the story of your life. And finding your head’s happy place can relieve neck and shoulder pain. Enjoy this rich combination of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons and explorations.
Series 1 Workshops: Seeing with Your Whole Self: the Eyes, Expression, Orientation and Balance, A Leg to Stand On: Finding Support, Moving Forward Without Pain, Where Is Your Head? Posture, Ease and Clear Thinking
Welcome to a new relationship with yourself. The Experiential Anatomy series of workshops are a portal into a deeper understanding of HOW you are. In each of the workshops, we will look how one part of you impacts the whole of you. Nothing ever happens in isolation, so even though we will focus the lessons on a part, each workshop is for the whole of yourself. Each workshop will include at least two Awareness Through Movement® lessons as well as an opportunity to connect movement with discussion, introspection and more.
