So many people, as they age, feel they have to give up doing certain yoga asanas because they fear injury or simply not being good enough. Moshe Feldenkrais developed many lessons that explored yoga asanas, sometimes creating several lessons exploring just one part of a posture. In my years as a yoga instructor, I found using these lessons, or portions of them helped my students find ease and support in their asana practice. The beauty of these lessons is their practical application not just to yoga, but to better functioning in life. In this afternoon workshop, we will experience Awareness Through Movement lessons that can open new vistas on the backbend/Wheel Pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana) and Cowface Pose (Gomukhasana). You will discover new flexibility in your back, your shoulders and your hips. No yoga experience required, but yoga practitioners will gain surprising insights. This class is safe even for people with limitations and injuries.
