December is the month when we hunch up against the cold, wrestle with social obligations, re-visit family challenges and at the same time, wish to celebrate. What a paradoxical time! We want to remain grounded without hunkering down. We wish to open to the expansiveness of presents and presence, but not lose our centers. In his last training in the US, Feldenkrais told his students, “I’m teaching you to be strong.” He was not talking about body building, but about how to have the internal resources to meet the necessity of the changing moment. His definition of good “acture” was about the ability to move in any direction without hesitation. You can’t do that if you are holding on for dear life.
Join me for an afternoon of cultivating your inner strength while remaining open to what December brings. We’ll explore the core of things through movement, inquiry and of course, laughter.
