Experiencing Fluid Resonance
A Benefit Event for the River Arts DistrictA day-long workshop into an exploration of Continuum
through sound, movement and breath
as a direct inquiry into our full aliveness
Saturday, June 28, Asheville Movement Center
4 Richmond Ave, Asheville 28806
Lavinia and Wendy are offering this day as a result of sharing how our somatic movement practices supported us and our nervous system co-regulation in the aftermath of Helene. We wish to share these resources with the community. This event is a benefit, with proceeds going to RAD as a small way to support those who have been impacted. While enrollment is limited, we will save a few spaces for those in financial need.
Bring a journal and your lunch. Water and tea will be provided. There will be blankets and mats, but if you prefer to bring your own, you are welcome to. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for movement.
Saturday, June 28

Morning Session – 9:30 – 12:30
A collaborative, fun, experiential session with Lavinia Plonka and Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle exploring our innate biointelligence. Employing an embodied approach to yoga, Pilates and Feldenkrais, we’ll move through our fluid, fascial awareness. Relationship with gravity, spatial orientation, sound and breath will guide our journey to new ways of supporting ourselves in a complex world.
Lunch – 12:30 -1:30
Afternoon Session – 1:30-4:30
A Continuum Dive with Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle, Continuum Teacher and Somatic Movement Educator with an invitation to explore greater freedom of movement. Sense new ways of moving with curiosity, form and formlessness. Discover how sound and breath are transformational and develop the ability to listen to your innate biointelligence as an embodied being.
We will have reflection and observation time toward end of session.
Why explore Continuum?

How Continuum has Impacted Wendy’s Teaching and Life
Meeting Emilie Conrad, the creator of Continuum, was a game changer for me. What came alive was an awareness of the field of fluid resonance as an ongoing emergence of our elemental body’s true nature as movement, sound and breath.
This awareness has given me such a deeper, embodied approach to our “living architecture’s fascial matrix”. It informs everything – how we live in and move through our bodies and our lives and has been a key that has unlocked and unified the integral elements of all somatic disciplines, whether they be yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Alexander and more. The concept of “core” dramatically shifted for me from one of control to a portal of core as relationship, with gravity, ourselves, one another and our living environment. Let’s explore together!
How Continuum has Impacted Lavinia’s Teaching and Life
I am a lifelong student of movement in all its applications. As watery beings, I continue to be amazed at how we forget that we can flow, stream, undulate and ripple through life, getting stuck in perception of solidity. While I haven’t done much exploring of Continuum, my curiosity is huge. And the opportunity to integrate it with the strategies of the Feldenkrais Method is irresistible. Anyone who is interested in somatic movement education needs to experience the work of Emilie Conrad at least once. Here in Asheville, this is our chance to explore with someone who actually worked with the master.
Meet Your Instructors
For over four decades, Wendy has been a holistic coach and embodied movement educator and mentor who is deeply inspired by the wisdom of the body, fascial matrix awareness, and personal transformation. Her vision has come to life through studies with pioneers in yoga,
Pilates, the somatic arts and sciences, Rolf Structural Integration bodywork, embryology, embodied breathwork and perceptual ontology, which inspired her creation of the unique 3CoreConnections® Embodied Awareness. As founder and former director for Pilates Center of Austin, established in 1993, her embodied approach to our living architecture empowers practitioners of any movement or bodywork discipline to shift from a biomechanical, pieces and parts, body as machine to be trained and fixed approach to a biointelligent, body as a living process, whole person approach. This seismic shift evokes an awareness of wholehearted listening and fluid intelligence, cultivating one’s authentic voice and vision, through the portal of innate biointelligent wisdom. Wendy is currently writing a book for Handspring Publishing on her embodied approach to movement and bodywork, scheduled for publication in February 2026, entitled: MOVING BEYOND CORE: A Somatic Exploration Through Whole Body Relationships. A founding member of the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), the Fascia Research Society and International Association of Structural Integrators, (IASI), she was on the original role delineation committee for the creation of the PMA exam, is an NCPT, a presenter for Pilates Anytime and FusionPilatesEDU , and honored to be a Second Generation Passing the Torch Mentor, Continuum Teacher and Registered Somatic Movement Educator (RSME).
Lavinia is internationally known as a master Feldenkrais® teacher and lead instructor of the Emotional Body®. She has dedicated her life to studying physical and metaphysical transformation – decades of practice in yoga, aikido, dance and a life long practice of inner work and contemplation. Her books and audio programs explore the applications of movement to wellbeing and personal growth. Lavinia created Kinēsa® to explore the intersection between movement, science and ancient traditions. Learn more about Lavinia.
