The Creative Body is a process for anyone who sees life as a creative act that is constantly renewed by movement. Creative Body workshops explore ideas ranging from mythology to psychology in a unique synthesis of movement, The Feldenkrais Method, the fine and performing arts, meditation, writing and dialogue. Each Creative Body workshop offers a different opportunity to link body and mind with personal dreams and goals.
Over ten years ago, Lavinia noticed that many students brought personal and emotional questions to their movement classes. A series of workshops emerged that linked movement with thought and emotion. Over the years, these workshops resulted in three books and many workshops around the world, including China, Mexico and throughout the US, including Esalen and the Feldenkrais Institute. While remaining faithful to the teachings of Moshe Feldenkrais, Lavinia has integrated her vast experience in the arts, writing, and her personal, spiritual search into the Creative Body Training.
The training is for anyone interested in opening possibilities beyond our perceived limitations. It is composed of four one week segments that can be taken in any order. If someone desires to become a Creative Body teacher, another four segments are required. The segments each address different facets of the movement/creativity/personal prism.
I. Eloquence in Action: What Is Your Story?
II. The Five Senses and Beyond
III. Perpetual Motion: Physics/Metaphysics
IV. The Body as Temple
